I have long been a fan of Project Runway but to be quite honest, I am skeptical about this upcoming season. There’s something amiss and I can’t put my fashion-friendly finger on it. Maybe it is because all of the brouhaha surrounding the series, or maybe it is because none of the winners seem to go much further than the PR reunion special (save Christian Siriano who had his likeness parodied on SNL). After watching the clip below, my spirits were not raised and my hopes were dashed—Kors even commented that one of the designs on the runway looked like “a Handiwipe”. Ouch. My prediction? I think that we’re gonna be looking at a hot mess for Season 5.

Is Project Runway, the mega-hit that is arguably Bravo’s most popular series leaving the progressive network? The media has been reporting that the cutting competition will perhaps say auf wiedersehen to Bravo and move to Lifetime, another female-friendly outlet. Fans are worried that the move may result in a dirge of sass and freedom—two things that the program is built on. And if that wasn’t enough, now Neeeeena Garcia is out at Elle? Didn’t Tim come to NG’s rescue with his peppy yet lilting words of wisdom? With Michael Kors and Garcia not signed on for the next season, it’s hard to say if I’ll be “in or out”.
