I’m thoroughly impressed with Wii Fit. I love that it’s actually attempting to turn the stereotypical lazy, drone-like gamer (who I happen to think is attractive) into a fitness champion! This is the first really bold attempt by Wii to get gamers on their toes. Personally, I don’t break a sweat unless I’m playing Wii Tennis. However, I can use the Wii Fit Balance Board to get moving. One of my favorite bloggers, Ryan Block from Engadget.com, is actually attempting to use the board and game to turn into a fit dude. He’s going to try to use the combo for 30 days and will provide updates along the way. It will be interesting to see the results. On the other end of the spectrum, Wii has released a game for all you eating contest lovers called Major League Eating: The Game. According to Nintendo, the game will make “extensive” use of the Wiimote to “simulate a variety of eating techniques including Burp-offs and Hot Potato challenges during the contests keep the competition intense and eaters on their toes.” This sounds totally disgusting but totally awesome at the same time.
