The eco-friendly pieces featured at the Huffington Post Oasis Lounge during the Democratic National
Convention have made their way to eBay! The exclusive Huffington Post Oasis Lounge served as a place for delegates, media and other convention goers to relax and recharge during the convention, featuring a yoga space, work area, Thai messages.
The lounge featured custom-designed furniture from me, Shawn Henderson- a daybed and club chair, as well as a variety of green and sustainable items such as side tables, slipcovered chairs and a sisal area rug—all currently available for auction. The proceeds from the charity auction will be donated to Off the Mat, Into the World, a program that aims to inspire and guide individuals to find and define their purpose and become active in their local or global community in an effective, sustainable and joyful way, through eBay Giving Works.
Check out the charity auction.

Being eco-friendly is all the rage these days and cork is one of my favorite green materials. It is sustainable
and regenerative. Cork trees naturally shed thick layers of their bark, and those cast offs can be used for many purposes.

When we think of cork, usually bulletin boards and wine stoppers come to mind. But there’s so much more. Remodeling? Consider laying down recycled cork-flooring tile. The tonality and texture looks edgy but the material feels warm and soft, and it is water-resistant. You can find cork tiles in different colors and patterns. Plus, it carries a great sound quality.
If you’re not refurbishing your floors at the moment, cork works as a wonderful trivet or coaster. I love cork drawer liners. Recently, I incorporated cork as a detail on a chair I designed. Small cork tiles are embedded on the arm rests - a built in coaster! The cork adds a super soothing earthy feel and makes you feel better about the earth.

A long, lazy summer afternoon lounging in a hammock is my idea of heaven. Thankfully, the days of the
plain braided rope hammock are gone and I can now do it in style. There are a variety of great designs: luxury, free-standing, and even eco-friendly (a hammock made from recycled seat belts. How cool is that?) On the go? Buy one for your dog to enjoy in the car.
Since hammocks are a seasonal item, get something bright and festive. A few smart buying suggestions: make sure your space is large enough to fit a hammock. If not, look for one with a stand. Then lie down, relax, and enjoy the lull.
