Cabbage Patch Kids Turn 25!

Posted Monday, December 1st, 2008 in Gadgets & Toys

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Cabbage Patch Kids – how old does that make me?! With eBay’s recent auction of the Presidential Candidates Cabbage Patch Kids, I was pulled down memory lane. I remember cherishing my little doll and never letting it out of my sight!

In fact, my grandfather made a big production when I got a new doll, reading me the birth certificate every time I received a new “baby.” It was a very official adoption!

If you’re a parent like I am, I strongly recommend checking out the 25th Anniversary Special Edition Cabbage Patch Kids. The holidays are right around the corner and I can assure your kids will love them! Check out the cute photo of the Presidential Cabbage Patch Kids!

Rocking the Vote

Posted Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 in Pop Culture

No matter which way you voted yesterday you must admit that this election was a historic one—for so many reasons. Some of you may be thrilled to the gills today and some of you may be a little wary, but whatever the case, you voted, you made a choice, and a new day is dawning. I’m still swelling with civic pride! Speaking of winners, did you know that the Sarah Palin Cabbage Patch Kid went for $19,000! In second was the real winner, President(!) Obama with $8,400, Senator McCain with $6,000, and VP Joe Biden bringing up the rear with $3,550.01.

Literally, when I pressed play my heart started racing and I thought I may need to go to the ER. Watch the video below for and experience the hilarity. And speaking of the election, on eBay right now, VP candidate Sarah Palin is pulling ahead in the Cabbage Patch Kids doll auction. Right now the SP doll is going for $1,025 in comparison to Barack Obama’s $510. But like the race itself, you never know how it will end- we’ll have to wait until the 4th!
