Meet Jack Sheng: eBay’s Very Own “Millionaire”

Posted November 13th, 2008

Imagine what it would feel like to receive over one million positive Feedback ratings on eBay. Now, imagine you’ve reached this milestone four times over.

Last week, I was lucky enough to interview a man who has done both - Jack Sheng, co-founder of Eforcity, a successful eBay store specializing in consumer electronic accessories. In total, Sheng has four eBay IDs, which have all reached the one million Feedback milestone.

Personally, as an eBay user and electronics guru, talking to Jack was extremely insightful. Listening to him describe his path to success demonstrated how his hard work, determination, and faith in eBay have transformed a home-based business into a facility that ships over 30,000 units out the door each day. Pretty amazing!

Tonight’s TV: Top Chef Premiere

Posted November 12th, 2008

I am a Bravo addict and I cannot stop watching their 101 reality TV programs. It is a problem. However, my most favorite of them all is back! Top Chef Season 5 premieres tonight. This installment takes place in the Big Apple which will chew up and spit out the 17 contestants. Perhaps in honor of the premiere I will whip up a concoction from the Top Chef cookbook. Where is Smell-O-Vision when we need it?

Michelle Obama’s Narciso Dress

Posted November 12th, 2008

Here’s the original Narciso Rodriguez dress from his spring runway show. Michelle’s version had a raised neckline and opaque hemline. Gorgeous dress, unfortunate cardigan.

But then I expect it was cold. However, she should have asked Rodriguez to do one of his razor-sharp coats to go over it or a little black fur chubby.

It took a me a few seconds to figure out what was going on with the dress. On television it looked a little odd. As good celebrity stylists know: a beautiful dress that looks great in the mirror isn’t necessarily telegenic.
