He likes Ed Hardy t-shirts, bluetooth headsets, and symmetrical haircuts. You like a guy with 8 kids and a soon-to-be-ex-wife with a penchant for talking to the tabloids—and eventually about you. Let the love blossom!

The news is never-ending…MJ, Farrah, Ed, and now Billy Mays. I love infomercials, can’t stop watching them. I even watched “Pitchmen” on Discovery because I had to hear about the latest and greatest graters, exercise equipment, and windshield wipers.
Billy Mays was the ultimate salesman, I even considered buying a magnetic tool belt and I don’t even own any tools (that set from Ikea does not count). Regardless, I was sad to hear of his passing yesterday and almost didn’t believe it. There have been so many high-profile losses as of late that it seemed improbable. Alas, it is true and late-night TV will never be the same. eBay has a lot of MJ memorabilia, a font of Fawcett posters, and a slew of As Seen on TV items including the infamous and ubiquitous Ped Egg. They’ve all been seen on TV, and of course, on eBay.

A true pop culture icon has passed and there are no words to express the sadness. I loved MJ since “Rockin’ Robin” and continued to cheer him on through “Remember the
Time.” His dancing, his 80s fashion, his popping and locking–his vibe was the stuff of super stars. He will be fondly remembered and never replaced.

Beginning today, eBay brings its online shopping experience to life with “Let’s Make a Daily Deal” a live game show in Times Square. During the game, hosted by “Sex and the City” actor and comedian Mario Cantone, shoppers will find out just how much they can save with eBay by competing in fun, price-guessing challenges. On Tuesday, June 23, legendary game show host Monty Hall will join Cantone as a special guest co-host. Contestants are eligible to win exciting prizes such as electronics, jewelry, sporting goods – and even a car – highlighting the unlimited opportunities for savvy shopping on eBay. Check out my personal pics from the TODAY Show this morning when Mario schooled Hoda and Kathie Lee in a mock game show.

Can you say trendsetter? If you read the NY Times Style Section religiously (as I do) then you would have seen their article about preppy fashion, “The All American Back From Japan,” this morning. Coincidentally, I wrote about the
same topic a few weeks back on the blog and of course made mention of Take Ivy. I always think preppy is in fashion which is why I constantly wear my docksiders. Like I always say, what’s old is new again.

Seems like every movie that is released is a Judd Apatow feature. But for your information, the Hollywood darling has actually only directed 3 movies—all of the others were produced by him or his company. That being said, an Apatow directed film holds a different weight. His latest creation, Funny People, is set to be released at the end of July. While sleeper hit The Hangover has everyone flocking to the theatre right now, it will be Funny People that rules in July. It stars Apatow’s usual cadre of comrades including wife Leslie Mann and their kids, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, former real-life roommate, Adam Sandler, Eric Bana, and my favorite, Jason Schwartzman. In true Apatow style, it will be funny and from the looks of the trailer, it will have a heart.

Saved by the Bell, everyone’s afternoon guilty pleasure, hit the late night circuit last night. Mr. Zack Morris (aka, Mark Paul Gosselaar), Bayside’s BMOC, appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about his new show, Raising the Bar. He had all of his “Saved-isms” intact: acid washed jeans, high-tops, high hair, and a brick cell phone. He even gave Jimmy and the house band a “time out” so that he could address the audience. I hope that they come through with a “Saved” reunion tour, seeing the “Zack Attack” perform “Friends Forever” would be life changing.

They say that life imiatates art. Well in the case of Entouage star, Kevin Connelly, I would say that this statement rings true. On the show, Kevin plays E, the top dawg to supposed superstar, Vincent Chase. He’s always driving Vinnie around and making the scruffy celeb look good. In real life, Connelly hangs tough with uber movie star,
Leonardo DiCaprio. Literally, every time I have seen Leo in the flesh (about 4 times now) he is with Kevin. Without fail–his mini- me is there. They’re usually knocking back cocktails, kibbitzing with pretty gals, and acting lo-pro. Case in point, last night Kevin was captured driving his buddy around town. Once a sidekick, always a sidekick.

I am a long time Sprint customer but that is not why I am about to endorse their new website. Yes I have gone through my fair share of brick-like cell phones (Zack Morris anyone?), bad customer service calls, and busted reception, but I must admit, their new Now Network site is top notch. It is a beacon of social media. It buzzes, dings, and ticks with all sorts of whiz-bang factoids and features. It also features a female Hal-style voice that is creepy yet soothing. Download the widget and get with the program. Truly for the web-addict in all of us.

I can hardly contain my sheer delight. I read a story this morning about how one of the most seminal 80s movies is going to get a 2nd life. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is a total classic and features Sarah Jessica Parker in all of her permed, pre-Sex in the City, goofy glory. There’s dancing, sneaking out, gymnastics, rich kids, and of course, Shannen Doherty. It is not the be missed. There are rumors swirling that the remake may be a star vehicle for Miley Cyrus. I am skeptical. The genius of the original includes zingers like “Velcro. Besides The Walkman and Tab, it’s the world’s coolest invention.” How can you compete with that?
