Ever said to yourself: I’d love to be more environmentally conscious but it’s too expensive. Or, I’m not driving 10 extra miles to buy a fluorescent light bulb.
I understand. You’re busy. It has to fit your life. Here are some easy and inexpensive ways to be eco -chic. And you may be doing more than you realize:
1. Have a clothes-swap party with the girls (B.O.B.). Guys can swap T-shirts, baseball caps and sports stuff
2. Buy vintage
3. Buy new, pre-owned fashions
4. Shop online
5. Check out these brands: Alternative Earth, Eileen Fisher organic, Loomstate, Stella McCartney and eBay’s sister site, www.worldofgood.com
6. Convert old jeans into cut-off shorts, skirts or handbags
7. Limit dry cleaning. Many woollens, jeans, cotton blouses and shirts can be safely hand-washed in Woolite and cold water
