I just returned from the sweltering city of New York. To say it was hot was an understatement, the NY Times described the weather as torrid. It was like a veritable steambath, there was no need to head to the spa, you just hit the city sidewalks. There was no point in even trying to look fresh and summery, it was a muggy mess. Even the celebs that were on the streets like Sarah Michelle Gellar , Jessica Simpson, and Eva Longoria had to take shelter by shopping in the AC. The relentless heat even caused airport delays which led to a “Casino Night” event at Virgin America which was apparently orchestrated to entertain cantankerous passengers. Needless to say, the Mister Softee trucks were raking it in over the past few days. Hey, we were all in it together, experiencing the moment, and complaining in concert. But alas, the chic set donned their finest and came out for a super-secret event that my fellow Style Squad compatriot, Constance White, will be telling you all about shortly.
